This body of work documents a Naval Hospital that was built in the early 1940s in response to World War 2. Prior to that, medical attention was given primarily in tents located near where is was built. During its days of operation, the hospital featured an administration building that housed offices, a board room, a medical library, the pharmacy, and a chapel. Branching off from this, there are eight wings to the building; The Sick Officer's Quarters, Neuro-Psychiatric Ward, Surgical Ward, Emergency Ward, The Dependents Ward, and the Nurse's Quarters being the primary uses. This Naval hospital operated until 1972 when a newer hospital was built. The Navy Base it resides in however officially closed in 1996, leaving the location abandoned ever since.
